Adventure Addicts Racing
DIVISION: Mixed Gender (non-premier) TEAM STRENGTHS: Our biggest team strength will also likely be our team weakness - we’re fortunate to have three comparably skilled navigators:) We are also very good friends who have raced together a lot over the years. PAST EXPERIENCE: Former Professional Tennis Player, Professional Engineer, Professional Diplomat = Amateur Adventure Racing Team with over 100 races under our belt between USARA & ARWS events for the past 15 years without a single podium finish, but always a damn good time had by all. Actually Michelle has had some podium finishes and it always seems to be without us. Huh… MORE ON THE TEAM: Bio here Team Websites:

Wildlings
DIVISION: All Female (non-premier) TEAM STRENGTHS: Wisdom, navigation, stealth PAST EXPERIENCE: All combined, the team has a lot of experience which will get us over the finish line and more than likely be a source of stories as we try to keep each other awake! Brenda started racing in the 90’s with 24hr and expedition races in Wisconsin and Michigan. I came from a pro canoe racing background and a cross country ski racing background. Her past experiences in AR are too numerous to list but started with all the Michigan Coast to Coast races in the 90’s, Untamed New England, many Sea to Sea with the 1st one as a soloist. Her fist International Race was Croatia. Soon after Expedition Oregon, World Championships in Spain, and Expedition Africa-Lesotho followed. And then she crams her calendar with shorter races that are east of the Mississippi. Kathy started racing in 2003 when she needed a new highly competitive team sport after finishing a brief stint as a professional soccer player. Living in Wisconsin so expeditions included 2 rounds of Michigan Coast to Coast. After moving the the east coast in 2005 I raced lots of distances with expedition including 3 rounds of Untamed New England. Shelley's been adventure racing with MAMILS (middle aged men in lycra) in the pursuit of orange flags since 2016. She is an active member of the CVOC (Central Virginia Orienteering Club) and has raced with Richmond Raging Burritos, REV3 Endurance and TanZ Navigation. Podium events include Summer Solstice (12hr), Happy Mutant AR Virginia (72hr), Calleva (10hr), USARA Nationals (2019), NCARS Uhwarrie (18hr), TanZ Navigation Winter Wildcat, Rev3 Conquer the Mountain (24hr) and Expedition Oregon (5day). Expedition racing started for Barbara in 2018 with her first being Untamed New England of course with Brenda! She has also done ARWS Paraguay and Sea to Sea. Fun fact about Barbara is that she had zero athletic background when she thought she would try adventure racing. What a wild ride since then! |
